Bacteriostatic Water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol for peptide reconstitution. Sterile, multi-use vial. Fast Australian shipping.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth, allowing multiple withdrawals from a single vial over an extended period — unlike single-use sterile water which must be discarded after opening.
This is the standard reconstitution solvent for lyophilised peptides in research settings. The preservative allows the vial to be used for up to 28 days after initial puncture when stored correctly, making it more economical and practical than single-use alternatives.
When reconstituting peptides, direct the water stream down the inside wall of the peptide vial rather than directly onto the lyophilised powder. Allow the peptide to dissolve gradually without shaking or vortexing, as mechanical agitation can damage some peptide structures.
Bacteriostatic water is compatible with most research peptides. However, some peptides (particularly GHRH analogues like CJC-1295 and Sermorelin) may benefit from reconstitution with acetic water or a 50/50 mixture due to improved solubility at slightly acidic pH.
Store at room temperature away from direct light. Do not freeze bacteriostatic water as this can affect the preservative distribution and sterility.
